I remember when I got excited that I made my first few cents on Hub Pages in my first week of writing. I had written 10 articles in that time. Wow. How much a month can change my opinion of writing. I have earned ~$30 from them in that month, and I have written 30 articles for them total. Some of those articles are over 1000 words.
They pay via Google Adsense (which is part of why I can't provide exact totals), and any affiliate programs like Amazon or eBay which you may be a part of.
The community there has 50% really nice, really helpful people, and the other 50% are pretty rude trolls. Some people are making good money from Hub Pages, but these are definitely the exception and not the rule.
When I found other online writing opportunities, I left.
For a very young, inexperienced writer, you should try it. Hey, you may make .12 cents.
