Ok, this seems to me to be the Cadillac of sites to get paid to write at! They pay up to $20 up front per article you write, they have thousands of topics available at any one time, and they have actual human editors who will edit your article, and send them back to you if they don't find them satisfactory.
There are some downsides to Demand Studios, but if I were disciplined, I would write exclusively for them.
1. The wide array of content editors - they have the 'easy pass' to the 'impossible to please' editors, and this is what scares me. They will send back an article once, and if they don't like it after that, they refuse it, making the time you've put into a certain article worthless (though you can republish refused articles at eHow, Associated Content, Hub Pages, or your own blog).
2. I am scared to write more because I have heard that they fire writers who don't keep up certain ratings, or who get too many articles returned for rewrites.
The benefits! I have made just over $200 with them so far. In one month. The trick is to find out their format and stick to it. If you are given 'impossible' rewrites, then just let the article go.
I want to write for them more, but I am scared of my rating falling too much.
