In this economy, how is this possible? I know, I know, step out in faith. God Provides, and all that. I believe it, I know it as someone told me to do. But is it possible with only one child, and a mediocre income? It is something my wife and I desperately want, but is it really possible?
- We would save 280 dollars monthly (minimum) for childcare
- Gas from a commute
- My mom suggests that we would save a ton of money on groceries and eating because meal planning/preparation would be more possible
But is all of that enough to make up the thousand dollars a month (give or take) that we would be missing in income? Yeah, sure, the government helps supplement food and energy budgets when you do something like this, but honestly? Do I want my wife to quit her job just to collect money from the government? That sounds like an abuse of the system to me!
This is something my wife and I both desparately want. It would be better for our son, and for our family in general. When and how does it become viable?
Is working from home an option? She is a CNA, so that career path wouldn't have much opportunity for home work, but are there any non-scam work from home opportunities? (Am I opening myself up to spammers, or what?!?)
/sigh
Oh well, I guess we will figure it out eventually.
